Entitlement

What Is an Entitlement?

An entitlement represents the customer's rights to use the software. An entitlement acts as a container for the licenses. It is analogous to a bank account: an entitlement contains rights to one or more licenses.

What Is an Entitlement Line Item?

Each line item in an entitlement is an activable unit, and has an activation ID.

The details of an entitlement line item specify the product, the quantity, and the duration of the license rights; for example, "15 copies of MyApplication for two years".

What Is an Entitlement ID?

An entitlement ID is the unique identifier of an entitlement. Logging on the portal with an entitlement ID gives access to all information related to all entitlement line item included in an entitlement.

An entitlement ID is represented as a string beginning with ent- and followed by 3 sets of 8 characters separated by a dash.

Example: ent-1234abcd-5678efab-9012cdef
